Dympna O'Sullivan - CD Launch - "Bean Chairdín"

Dympna was born in Lissycasey in West Clare in an area steeped in traditional music and song. Dympna is very much part of the strong tradition of musicians that have come from this area. From a very young age her parents encouraged her musical talent. She attended the annual Willie Clancy festival where she developed her own skills and style. Today Dympna is widely acknowledged as one of Clare’s finest concertina players and has been an established performer and teacher of music for many years.

Bean chairdín is Dympna’s long awaited first solo album. She is joined by such excellent musicians as Willie Kelly on fiddle, Geraldine Cotter on piano and Eoin O’Neill on bouzouki. On this album Dympna brings to life traditional tunes with her own unique gentle and traditional style.
