Éamonn Coyne, Tim Edey & John-Jo Kelly
Éamonn Coyne, who now lives in Edinburgh, is originally from Ireland (Dublin/Roscommon). His debut solo cd 'Through the Round Window' released in 2002 (Compass Records) featured various friends including Alison Brown, 5-string banjo astronaut from California via Nashville, Dermot Byrne (accordion and melodeon) and Ciarán Curran (bouzouki) both of Altan, Kevin Doherty (guitar and vocals) of Four Men and a Dog, Michael McGoldrick (flute) of Capercaillie, Tom Morrow (fiddle) of Dervish, and Ethna Coyne (nano) his grandmother (accordion and vocals). fRoots described it as ‘utterly stunning’.

Before this he had also performed and recorded with a vast array of people including Siobhán and Tommy Peoples, The Wrigley Sisters (cds ‘Hunterland’ and ‘Mither o' the Sea’), Eileen Ivers (Ex Riverdance), Sharon Shannon, Jonny Hardie and Gavin Marwick (cd ‘The Blue Lamp’), Bèla Fleck, Jerry Douglas, and Russell’s House (cd ‘Russell’s House’). Éamonn currently tours and records with Scottish ‘international’ band Salsa Celtica (cds ‘El Agua de la Vida’ and ‘El Camino’).

His most recent cd, with multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Kris Drever, ‘Honk Toot Suite’, was released in January 2007 again on Compass Records. Songlines described it as ‘a breath of fresh air’ with its ‘mutually attuned musicianship of the first order’ and ‘its immense yet ultra-supple sophistication’.

Tim Edey is 28 years old and is regarded by many as one of the finest DG melodeon/accordeon and guitar players of his generation in the Celtic music folk scene worldwide.

Influenced early on by the likes of Luke Daniels, Sharon Shannon, Dermot Byrne, Begley and Cooney and Django Reinhardt, Tim’s own approach to playing traditional music was set to be pretty special from the start.

Tim loves improvising and has often been described as an Irish jazzer! A mixture of dazzling technical ability and soulful feel have made Tim a highly sought after session musician both in the studio and on stage.

To date, as well as touring with renowned Irish Dance show ‘Magic Of The Dance’, Tim has performed, recorded and appeared on radio and TV with most of Celtic music’s best known names, including: Julie Fowlis, Frankie Gavin, Session A9, Anam, Michael McGoldrick and various members of Scottish supergroup Capercaillie, Altan, Steve Cooney, Mary Black, Seamus Begley, and acclaimed Irish band Lunasa. He also played on and co-arranged Lunasa’s latest album ‘SÉ’.

In 2000 Tim toured with Sharon Shannon and the Woodchoppers. More recently, Tim composed a track for Sharon called ‘Little Bird’ which appears on Sharon’s latest CD ‘The Sharon Shannon collection’, which has achieved platinum status in Ireland.
